Moscato
is one of the most diffuse and characterised vines
in Europe. Among its many clones, the white Moscato
grape has become popular. Its presence on the island
dates back to Roman times, and over the centuries it
has become different from the original continental
strain, giving rise to different wines from
different local geographical areas. As well as being
produced all over the region, in particular the wine
produced in Sorso and Sennori has its own designated
origin protection.
Moscato
di Sardegna can be produced as a sparkling wine all
over the island using a maximum of 10% of other
white grapes. Those produced in Gallura have the
geographical designation “Tempio Pausania”or
“Tempio” and “Gallura”. |
