Cherries
are grown in specific areas of Sardinia which are
characterised by particular climactic conditions.
Local
varieties named Bonnanaro and Tempio are
distinguished by their relatively small, bright red
fruits with a sweet flavour and a tart aftertaste.
They are harvested entirely by hand in North
Sardinia from mid May to mid June. |
