The
origins of the Cannonau vine are not absolutely
clear, but it is thought that it comes from the
Iberian peninsula from the beginning of the Spanish
domination of the island. Cannonau has found its
ideal environment in Sardinia, and is a favourite of
local winemakers as it has spread throughout the
island, covering 20% of all vineyards in the
territory.
Its more
or less intense ruby red colour tends towards orange
when older. It has a pleasant bouquet and a
characteristic dry to palatable, savoury, warm and
harmonic taste. |
