This
product has very old origins (12th century). In
Sardinia an ancient legend tells us that its curious
name 'Filuferru' derives from a time when peasant
farmers secretly distilled the dregs of pressed
grapes (marcs). In order to keep this a secret, they
hid their stills underground marking the exact spot
with a piece of iron wire (filo di ferro) in order
to find the equipment again.
It is
made of distilled grape marcs of different
varieties, which had been left to ferment. Pure and
transparent, this esteemed product has a strong,
invigorating taste. |
